SYNERGY Peavey 6505 DUAL CHANNEL ALL-TUBE MODULE
SYNERGY Peavey 6505 DUAL CHANNEL ALL-TUBE MODULE
The Synergy engineering team spent over two years working with Peavey to perfectly capture the 6505’s tone, feel, and response. This no compromise collaboration resulted in an all-tube preamp module that genuinely replicates and streamlines everything that makes the 6505 so popular. Whether you're after the classic sounds that the amplifier was designed for or the modern high-gain it's come to define, the Peavey 6505 module is where you'll find it. PEAVEY 6505 Preamp Module Features:
- All-tube preamp module base on the legendary Peavey 6505 amp
- Two identical channels with Gain, Volume and 3-Band EQ
- Lead or Clean select switch per channel
- 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes ensure rich harmonic performance
- Easy to install and remove from Synergy preamp docks
- Dual/Single switch allows the module to be used with older Egnater and Randall hardware
- Three-position cathode select switch allows you to configure the input tube bias setting.
DUAL-CHANNEL, TUBE PREAMP MODULE
The Peavey 6505 module features two identical channels, each capable of nailing the amp's impressive range of grind. Both channels' Crunch setting (based on the Crunch setting of the Rhythm channel) goes from bluesy breakup to hard rock punch. Lead is all about the amp's beloved red (Lead) channel, famous for its midrange articulation, low-end punch, and aggressive cut. Mirror the channels and use one as a lead boost or footswitch between old- school crunch and thick leads; either way, you get authentic, all-tube Peavey 6505 tone.
CATHODE SELECT FUNCTION:
The Peavey 6505 module features a three-position switch on the PCB, which allows you to configure the input tube bass response to match the original circuit of the selected module. This will affect the feel and tightness. Each amp designer has a specific combination of components that make up their input tube circuit. We have selected the three most popular combinations which you can access with this switch. The USA voiced modules typically use setting 1 (1.5K resistor and 22uf capacitor). British-style modules use position 2 (2.7K resistor and .68uf capacitor). The Peavey 6505, just like the Soldano and Vai modules use position 3 (1.8K resistor and 1uf capacitor). Of course, you can experiment and try any of the positions to see what you prefer.
